Initially, he is able to stay Aggro on the double buff Xin in his jungle because his lanes have priority to rotate, plus his red buff gives him an easy kite. Take a look at the map during this play, as that’s where a lot of this fight is actually taking place. Here, Nidhogg plays extremely well around Nidalee’s range against a Xin (who typically hard counters Nidalee). RUNIC ECHOES + ROA + ICEBON GAUNTLET + SPIRIT VISAGE + GUINSOO’S RAGEBLADE Both are dependent on the team you are playing, though. As far as boots go, you usually want to go Ninja Tabi’s or Merc Treads. It’s the perfect cherry on top for this build. The AS buff is huge once you get into fights, and you make great use of both the AD and AP. This ties right back into those extended fights we’re having, the Conquer procs, and just more overall damage. This is the item that usually gets a few raised eyebrows from people, but trust me, it fits right into this build. Last but not least, we have Guinsoo’s Rageblade. You’ve been building for those extends fights this whole game, and now you have some insane healing through your E, Conqueror and your abilities to back up those fights. Some MR to combat any AP in the game, more HP (which we want for obvious reasons), and the passive that increases all healing by 30%. This item really elevates your fighting ability within this build. Spirit Visage is the second to last item. The additional armor is a huge stat bonus too, and once again fits into your goal of surviving for those extended fights. The sheen proc fits super well into Nidalee’s kit too, and you’ll find yourself proccing Iceborn many times throughout a fight.

This item is almost always a good fit, as you rarely fight full AP teams. With the extra health stat buff from ROA, you can start getting those extended fights you want to proc conqueror more often. Once you’ve finished Runic Echoes, the next item up is Rod of Ages. The extra AP will help you out early game with keeping up in terms of damage to everybody, and it is also helps your clear insanely. Runic Echoes is typically the first item you want to to be buying. These are just runes specific to Nidhogg’s Nidalee and his style of play, so please don’t flame in the comments about how Electrocute is better or something 🙂 Also, just as a reminder for anybody reading, I’m not saying these are the best and only runes to run on Nidalee. Nidhogg also has a Lethal Tempo Nidalee he runs, but it’s not something he plays as commonly so I’m not too familiar with the rune page or setup. Coup De Grace for obvious reasons, Sudden Impact since you are pouncing so much and Ravenous hunter since you constantly have opportunities to heal from your abilities from both Human form and Cougar form.

Alacrity gives you that little boost in attack speed which makes fitting autos in-between your combos a LOT easier. It’s a phenomenal skirmishing rune for Nidalee, as most of her fights revolve around her engaging and then reengaging on an opponent. Conqueror is fairly easy to proc, and lets you scale better than Electrocute into the late game. This mix of Precision/Domination plays perfectly with the item build and style of play Nidhogg brings to the table. Here’s a quick example of that if you’re interested 🙂 His ability to stay calm and not let things get to him is something that elevates his gameplay. His Youtube is full of wonderful theory crafting of champions in high elo, including but not limited to: Lethal Tempo Karma Jungle, Conqueror Ekko, Lethal Tempo/Conqueror Nidalee, and some other unique builds thrown around here and there! On top of that, Nidhogg is one of the most positive and calm faced players I’ve seen in higher elo. Since then, he has moved onto other champions such as Nidalee. Previously, he was (self?) named the best J4 in the world. He is most known for being a high Elo (up to Challenger) player who messes around with theory crafting and mashes his buttons a LOT (lmao). Nidhogg is a Twitch streamer and Youtube content producer.

I’d love to give a quick breakdown and introduction into this player, and to Nidalee, for anyone willing to spend a few minutes learning something new. The man plays along with many different builds and rune sets for a variety of champions, AND explains in depth the reasoning for each one of them. Another great aspect of his play is his love for theory crafting and limit testing. On top of that, not only does he provide a wealth of game knowledge, Nidhogg even goes as far as to explain most (if not all) his decision making during the game. Nidhogg is one of the few people I’ve found recently who makes his gameplay actually exciting to watch. If you haven’t already watched this guy showcase his Nidalee, you’re missing out.
